Darach
size: large; margin-left: 10px; float: rightA darach is a corrupted Druid, one who has turned their back on their obligation of following and maintaining the balance of nature in pursuit of their self-interestsself-interests. and nefarious goals. In Gaelic, "darach" literally means "dark oak."

A darach will channel their ability to harness the forces of nature, including their influence of animals in the name of obtaining and imbueing themselves with enhanced supernatural powers. Also, instead of committing self-sacrifice in the manner of more benevolent druids, a darach will commit murder, using human sacrifices to obtain newer additional types of supernatural powers from their victims' offering. Subsequently, they will typically use their new powers for carrying out their worldly passions and nefarious goals.

A darach's perversion of their traditional Druid capabilities is shown to not come without consequences. Animals can react to their supernatural prescence by behaving eratically, some species migrating out of their regular area and becoming suicidal. Also because of their actions being against the natural call of nature, a Darach's appearance is quite inhuman and repulsive.

Jennifer Blake, aka Julia Baccari, was the only known darach to appear in the series.

size: medium; margin-right: 5px; float: leftJulia Baccari was the emissary to the alpha Kali. However after Julia was left for dead by Kali when the alpha attempted to murder her to join Deucalion's alpha pack, Julia harnessed her ability to tap into the power of a Nemeton outside of Beacon Hills which was sparked by the unintentional sacrifice of a virgin. This spark of power revitalised Julia's life force with just enough strength to survive until help arrived.

Afterwards, Julia swore revenge against Kali and Deucalion, abandoning her obligation to maintain balance and became a darach. She used her druid abilities to harness the ways of nature, including influencing animals to commit suicide and bestowing upon herself a multitude of additional supernatural powers. The consequence of this was her deformed appearance. Using her glamour ability, she disguised herself with a new identity. In Season 3, she took on the name of Jennifer Blake, a high school teacher and to obtain the power to destroy the Alpha pack, she planned to committ five sets of three human sacrifices.
