Tails
Kitsune create and collect their Tails as they age, and grow more powerful. Tails are manifested as physical objects which, due to their supernatural reflexes and coordination, Kitsune prefer to have altered into weapons. A Tail is manifested as a Kitsune gains and masters each new ability or power. Tails are also sources of supernatural power for a Kitsune, similar to how the [[Werewolves+Full moon|full moon]] is to werewolves.
 
Kira's Shuriken
{{412image50|size:medium; margin-top: 5px; margin-right: 20px; float: left}}In [[4x12 - Smoke and Mirrors|Smoke and Mirrors]], Kira is injured by [[Scott McCall|Scott]] as a Berserker, but determined to save him. She took a shard of obsidian stone, and using it to cause herself pain, Kira triggered and activated her Kitsune healing. Kira kept the shard, because of its relevance to her, and her parents had the shard altered into a shuriken. Kira realized the shuriken represented her first Tail.
 
Noshiko's Kaiken
{{319image31|size: medium; margin-top: 5px; margin-leftt: 20px; float: right}}[[Noshiko Yukimura|Noshiko]]'s Tails are represented by small daggers called kaiken. Because Noshiko is near to 900 years old, she had vast power and had formed nine Tails. To combat and eliminate the Nogitsune, Noshiko summoned [[Oni]] using her Tails by sacrificing them. Because Noshiko's Tails were all sacrificed in the fight against the Dark Kitsune, her power was severely depleted, leaving her to being 'technically' a Kitsune.
