threefold death

Victims of the threefold death in Teen Wolf suffer:

  1. Strangulation
  2. Throat cutting
  3. Blunt force trauma to the head

This is most similar to The Lindow Man found in Lindow Moss. Historians are unsure why the Lindow Man was killed in this manner, as there isn't sufficient evidence of human sacrifices taking place in England in 2 BC - 119 AD. But neither does his location or the overkill suggest something as simple as robbery

In other mythology, however, the threefold death was:

  1. Blunt force trauma/slicing
  2. Burning
  3. Drowning

Sometimes the bashing/slicing was changed for strangulation. Both Merlin and Odin are associated with the threefold death, as well figures from Celtic mythology such as Aedh the Black.
