The necklace turns into a thermocut wire that can cut off appendages without blood loss because of the extreme heat. In 4x04, Violet uses her necklace to kill Demarco Montana by decapitating him. Also in 4x05, she cuts off Carrie Hudson's hand with the necklace and attempts to kill Scott, but he is able to grab onto the wire and pull it away from him without injury.
